AKC Registered
Resilient
Great Companion

Originating in Southern Africa, the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed was specifically bred for hunting and guarding purposes. Renowned as the "African lion dogs," these remarkable canines played a crucial role in pursuing and restraining lions until hunters could intervene. An identifying feature unique to this breed is the distinct ridge of hair running along their backs, which has become an iconic characteristic. The pedigree of the Rhodesian Ridgeback was officially defined in 1922 in Zimbabwe, and it earned the official recognition of the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1955.
